Description

The Glorious Kashmir tour is the perfect introduction to the most beautiful valley in the  Himalayas — a thoughtfully designed 5-night, 6-day Kashmir tour package by Indian Inspire Journey that captures the essence of the region in a single, well-paced journey. From the lakes and gardens of Srinagar to the glacier meadows of Sonmarg and the pine valleys of Pahalgam, this itinerary distils Kashmir's greatest landscapes into six unforgettable days.

Srinagar anchors the journey with three nights — enough time for the Mughal Gardens, a sunset shikara ride on Dal Lake, the old city's wooden mosques and spice markets, and a full- day excursion to Gulmarg with its famous Himalayan gondola. Few cities anywhere combine natural beauty and living heritage the way Srinagar does.

From there, the tour climbs to Sonmarg — the "Meadow of Gold" — where the Thajiwas Glacier descends almost to the roadside and alpine scenery unfolds in every direction. The final night belongs to Pahalgam, the gentle "Valley of the Shepherds," where the Lidder River rushes past pine forests and saffron fields line the drive.

Ideal for first-time visitors to Kashmir from the UK, USA, and Australia, this tour is fully private, fully guided, and fully customisable. Indian Inspire Journey's local Kashmir team handles every transfer, hotel, and experience so you can simply immerse yourself in the valley the Mughal emperors called paradise.

FAQ

What does the Glorious Kashmir tour cover?
The tour covers Kashmir's three essential landscapes — the lakes and Mughal Gardens of Srinagar, the glacier meadows of Sonmarg, and the pine valleys of Pahalgam — plus a full-day Gulmarg excursion with its famous Himalayan gondola. It is the ideal first-visit itinerary for the Kashmir Valley.
What is the best time to visit Kashmir?
April to October is the prime season — spring blossoms, green summer meadows, and golden autumn each offer a different valley. Winter (December–February) brings heavy snow and transforms Gulmarg into a ski destination, though some mountain roads may close.
Is Kashmir safe for international tourists?
Kashmir's main tourist circuits — Srinagar, Gulmarg, Sonmarg, and Pahalgam — are well- established, welcoming destinations that host thousands of international visitors every season. Indian Inspire Journey monitors advisories closely and our local team provides current, accurate guidance for your travel dates.
What is Sonmarg known for?
Sonmarg — the "Meadow of Gold" — sits at 2,730 metres where the Thajiwas Glacier descends nearly to the valley floor. It is the most dramatic alpine scenery in Kashmir and the gateway to the high-altitude Zoji La pass towards Ladakh.
Can a houseboat night be added to this tour?
Yes — one or more of the Srinagar hotel nights can be swapped for a traditional Dal Lake houseboat stay at no structural change to the itinerary. It is the most requested upgrade and we highly recommend it.
What should we pack for Kashmir?
Layered clothing year-round — warm jackets for mornings and evenings even in summer, and full winter gear from November to March. Comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, and sunglasses are essential at altitude.
Can this tour be extended?
Easily — extra nights at Gulmarg, a Dal Lake houseboat stay, or an onward journey to Leh Ladakh over the Zoji La pass can all be arranged. Indian Inspire Journey will tailor the itinerary to your available time.
